علقت به والناس في سن الكري 
تمتعت منه الدهر إذ كنت
مفردا

I am attached to him when people are in inevitable slumber (and sleeping),I enjoyed his love for long , I alone.

The sweet hours of the night when neighbours are all sleeping is sacrificed 
by Sheikh(RA) to record poems in the love of the prophet(SAW), the love that 
couldn’t allow him to sleep. 

Day time and night are the same to Sheikh(RA) he was always in yearning of the prophet(SAW) tears of yearning used to drop from his eyes when people are sleeping in the late hours of the night. 

The translator also used these hours translating this great work, emulating his 
master.

Safwan ibn Qudama said "I emigrated to the prophet and went to him and said, 'MESSENGER OF ALLAH, I LOVE YOU' He said, 'A man is with the one he loves'" Sunna of Tirmidhi, Vol. 4, page 23

French Translation: Je suis attaché à lui quand les gens sont dans un sommeil inévitable (et dorment), J'ai joui de son amour pendant longtemps, moi seul. 

Les douces heures de la nuit où les voisins dorment tous sont sacrifiées par Sheikh (RA) pour enregistrer des poèmes dans l'amour du prophète (SAW), l'amour qui ne pouvait pas lui permettre de dormir. 

Le jour et la nuit sont les mêmes pour Cheikh (RA), il était toujours en attente du prophète (SAW) des larmes de nostalgie coulaient de ses yeux lorsque les gens dormaient tard dans la nuit. Le traducteur a également utilisé ces heures pour traduire ce grand ouvrage, imitant son Maître. 

Safwan ibn Qudama a dit " J'ai émigré vers le prophète et je suis allé vers lui et lui ai dit : " MESSAGER D'ALLAH, JE T'AIME " Il a dit : " Un homme est avec celui qu'il aime " " Sunna de Tirmidhi, Vol. 4, page 23

و زحمت في هذا الزمان و انني
 لفي غيرة ممن يروم محمدا

And in this time (of ours) I was competed (in love of the prophet SAW) while I am,
Jealous with whoever is desiring Muhammad (SAW).

Many saints attempted to compete with sheikh(RA) in love of the prophet(SAW) and they were defeated because sheikh has dissolved his personality in deep love of the prophet(SAW) he never became distracted 
from loving the prophet(SAW).

Qur’an 3:31 says, “Say (O Muhammad, to mankind & Genie): If ye love Allah, follow me; Allah will love you and forgive you your sins. Allah is forgiving , Merciful"

French Translation: Et dans ce temps (le nôtre) j'ai été concurrencé (amoureux du prophète SAW) pendant que je suis, Jaloux de celui qui désire Muhammad (SAW). 

De nombreux saints ont tenté de rivaliser avec le cheikh (RA) dans l'amour du prophète (SAW) et ils ont été vaincus parce que le cheikh a dissous sa personnalité dans un amour profond du prophète (SAW), il n'a jamais été distrait d'aimer le prophète (SAW). 

Coran 3:31 dit: "Dis (O Muhammad, à l'humanité et au génie): Si vous aimez Allah, suivez-moi; Allah vous aimera et vous pardonnera vos péchés. Allah est Pardonneur, Miséricordieux"
